Duffield
Expanding Access
Grants
The Duffield Expanding Access Grant was created to inspire and support nonprofit organizations to dream, prepare, and take action to expand access to veterinary care in their communities.
This grant seeks to help nonprofits sustainably increase their capacity to serve patients, expand the services they provide, or launch new programs. If your team is already providing veterinary care services and has a vision to sustainably serve more patients or provide more types of care to the patients you already serve, this grant may be able to help you fund that growth.
This is a flexible grant program based on the reality that there are many different ways for nonprofit organizations to grow or expand their services, and different needs in each community.
Examples of qualifying expenses:
-
Adding more service days
-
Adding a new service
-
Expanding into new space
-
Purchasing technology needed to support future growth

How to Apply
The application process for a Duffield Expanding Access Grant begins with an initial Letter of Intent (LOI) submitted through our online portal (see Apply Here button below). Paper copies and emailed submissions cannot be accepted.
This is an open call with an ongoing, rolling LOI deadline. We accept LOIs for this grant year-round, and you are welcome to submit an LOI at any time. If your LOI is accepted, you will be invited to submit a full application, which are due twice per year: in January and again in June. Your invitation to apply will include your application due date for the next application period. Grant applications submitted for the January deadline will be announced in March, and applications submitted for the June deadline will be announced in August of each year.
Your LOI should be brief, around 500 - 700 words total. If your LOI is accepted, you’ll have the opportunity to share more details about your organization and proposed project.
